Mirari Studio

logo_mirariMirari Studio is a newly launched initiative this season, bringing together artists from all genres with one objective in mind: designing and displaying design in its form of function for the public to engage and interact with, understand and recognize, and to learn and be inspired by. Featured designers and artists will be provided the opportunity to apply themselves to the design space, installations and fixtures.


Mirari Studio focuses on empowering artists through a distinctive brief developed in conjunction with representatives from design organizations, educational institutions, as well as art and design advocates, who have all expressed interest and dedication to making the expo a reality.


Mirari Studio will open its doors at Canadian Museum of History on February 9th, 2014. Attendees will experience the beautiful synergy between fashion, art and design.

Designing Winter Haute Couture
Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014 // 5pm-10pm
Canadian Museum of History

The evening will feature, a collection by a top Canadian designer DUY and an art exhibits by Patrick Biggs and Arline Malakian, all drawing upon elements of winter as their muse. In addition, the studio will present architectural designs that demonstrate the integration of greenery and architecture in ways that ensure the survival of the greenery while maintaining aesthetic in Canadian Winter climate. The evening activities will also be accompanied by musical performances by Silvie Cheng and May-Jun and Becky.

DUY, the eponymous Montreal-based high-end ready-to-wear line created by Duy Nguyen in 2001 has won numerous fans for its sharp tailoring and impeccable cuts. Duy has always experimented with the best in quality fabrics and pattern-making. His unmistakable precision, his mastery of cut and his high precision tailoring have created a unique tailoring approach that has become his signature.

Featuring Patrick Biggs
Ex-national team skier and two-time Olympian Patrick Biggs has found a new life passion in the arts. With a specialty of figure in motion, Patrick brings canvas’ to life with his deeply textured impressionist oil paintings. For more information about Patrick Biggs, visit
Featuring Silvie Cheng
Ms. Cheng discovered her love for music at age 4 on a tiny, blue, toy keyboard.
Her passion for music became her life, and she is currently a Presidential Award Scholar and Dean’s List student at the Manhattan School of Music (MSM) in New York City, in the studio of Jeffrey Cohen. Ms. Cheng also holds an Associate Piano Performance Diploma from the Royal Conservatory of Toronto.
She has won top prizes at the Canadian Music Competition National Finals, the Thousand Islands International Piano Competition,the Heida Hermanns International Piano Competition, the Ontario Music Federation Association Competition, and the Lillian Fuchs Chamber Music Competition. Arline Malakian is a visionary. International Fine Art and Fashion Photographer, Arline Malakian is passionate about creating dramatic images that convey inner beauty celebrated in a dance of the female.
