What to Expect
Paidemoyo Chideya for over ten years and has epitomized what classic design is and what innovation in design can be. Born in Zimbabwe, raised in Sweden, London and with nuances in Paris, Paidemoyo learned to refine her design eye through the diversity of all the multiplexes of cultures that surrounded her upbringing. Apprenticing for the likes of Carolina Herrera, Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren, she learned to refine her eye for vintage, style, eloquence and demure.
DeMOYO Fall/Winter 2012 collection, “CUSP,” is dedicated to the fragility and the dichotomy of life. Pure and blunt extremes are used to express the yin yang nature of existence. The name of the collection authenticates that there is always a choice of path that we take, yet in reality we reside on the cusp, the edge , the precipice. Handwoven lace will summize the delicate nature of it all—intricate and and perfect, while, herringbones both heavy and light will express the double edged sword of existence. Meanwhile, and in between, raw satins, and chambrays will epitomize the collection.
